HARVEST FESTIVAL at Sanders Garden Centre

Bring your apples and have them "pressed for free" !

Peter Burks, General Manager of Sanders Garden World, said: “During our Harvest Festival visitors will be able to sample some of the jams and chutneys on sale here at the garden centre

“Representatives from Richs Farmhouse Cider, which is based in Watchfield, will also be at the garden centre on both days from 10.30am until 4pm to offer free tastings to visitors over the age of 18. “We will have an apple press at the garden centre on both days and people who bring along their own apples will be able to have them pressed for free. We will also be selling apple juice made from our own apples for £1.50 a pint.”

During the event, there will be a skittle alley for visitors to play on for free. Children will also be able to take part in a scarecrow hunt around the garden centre.

Representatives from the Woodturning Society will be at the garden centre on both days to demonstrate their craft to visitors and sell their goods, which include vases, pens and ornamental boxes.

Peter added: “Andy Luft from our supplier Somerstock, who is an expert on fruit trees, will in store on both days to offer complimentary advice to visitors. Members of our horticultural team will also be on hand to chat to people about their fruit trees during the weekend.

“Customers will also be able to buy fresh fruit and vegetables from Mark Kidner, who is a local Greengrocer, on both days.”
