This may interest all the women out there running businesses!  Next week on Wednesday 18th November there is a multi network lunch and awards celebration

.....  celebrating successful female entrepreneurs - inspiring women to turn their ideas into reality.   I'm booked to go and really looking forward to meeting and networking with other like minded entrepreneurial women in business from the South West.

 

This year Women of the Westcountry is hosting this event and my 'other' business - Women Mean Biz are one of the sponsors promoting it.  Happening at the Mercure Holland House Hotel, Redcliffe Hill, Bristol, BS1 6SQ.  12.30 till 2p, there will be six awards, based on contributions to women’s enterprise, presented by ITV news correspondent, Sherrie Eugene.  The keynote speaker will be Kresse Wesling.   http://thesamewavelength.com/docs/speakers/KresseWesling.pdf 

 

The award categories are:-
1.  Female Entrepreneur of the Year - Sponsored by SWRDA.
For individuals running their own businesses, large or small.
 
2.  Rising Star Award - Sponsored by Science City=Bristol.

Young female entrepreneurs in their first year of business, using science, technology, engineering, or maths to address social challenge.
 
3.  Enterprise Champions - Sponsored by Business Link. 

Awarded to enterprising women in the workplace, whether in the office or at home.
 
4.  Recession Recovery Award - Sponsored by BNI. 

For a female entrepreneur with a business idea which has just, or is yet, to launch in the shadow of recession.
 
5.  Enterprising Woman in the Public Sector - Sponsored by SWRDA. 

For females making an important contribution to the public sector.
 
6.  Enterprising Male - Sponsor BNI.

For a male role model who supports & encourages women in enterprise; who has promoted a women in enterprise or who is able to attribute growth within his organisation to his support of enterprising women.
 
Nominees will be appointed as role models and work with Ablaze and the Female Ambassador’s Programme, participating in promoting women’s enterprise; speaking in schools, mentoring or writing inspirational articles.  They will be ambassadors for the year and the focal point for the media for Women in Enterprise. At the 2010 celebrations they will share their experiences and insights.  The deadline for making nominations for the various awards via the following link has been extended until noon on Thursday 12th November, so there is still a chance to nominate that inspiring person!
