Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called a number of times the other day reporting a plane burning up and crashing into the sea off the coast of Whitstable. One call was from a pilot who reported a plane was in distress and had gone into the sea.
Fire-fighters from Whitstable and Herne Bay searched the area but no trace of an aircraft could be found. Fishermen in the area also reported seeing something. Air Traffic Controllers have confirmed they have no planes missing however, and the sighting has been attributed to a meteorite falling into the sea.
The Earth passed through a cloud of dust left by a comet at the weekend, and hundreds of meteors were reported streaking across the skies around the globe.
But it could have been a UFO. Just saying.
