Bookfest is back for 2014, celebrating the best of Britain's literary stars.
Wimbledon Common is obviously the only place you join real life Wombles for a sing-a-long. For a fortnight it’s also the only place you can hear from Clare Balding, Ian McEwan and Paul Merton (fun fact: our borough was the inspiration behind his choice of surname).
BookFest returns to Wimbledon for its eighth year, and this time it’s bigger than ever. The festival launches on 27th September with free events in the Piazza and an interview with crime writer, Sophie Hannah.
From there, expect two weeks of literally ever literary event you can imagine – a poetry, pub quizzes and story writing competitions are scattered between talks from some of Britain’s greatest stars of literature.
Events are selling out quickly so be sure to book your tickets soon. A full calendar of events is available here.
The Best of Wimbledon and Merton helps to bring all the best local information to all local residents and businesses throughout Wimbledon and Merton. We also bring trusted businesses and the community...
