Volunteers Wendy Bliss and Chrissie Craig from the Merton Arts Trail have won the Arts and Entertainment award in this years Merton Civic award.
Merton Arts Trail is an Open House event held throughout the borough each September, when all participating artists collectively open their doors to the public to show and sell their art.
Visitors can create their own Trail, and by using our map and catalogue they can make direct contact with the artists and chat about their work.
If they decide to buy some art, the artists will benefit 100% (i.e. MAT does not take commission on works sold)
The Merton Civic Awards is made up of a partnership between Merton Council and the Wimbledon Guardian, with sponsorship from a number of top businesses from across the borough, has enabled the Merton Civic Awards to take place annually since 2013.
Merton Arts Trail is a charitable social enterprise run on a voluntary basis.
All funds raised through sponsorship, advertising, artists entry fees & council grant, go towards creating a festival for all to enjoy.
