Poor old Robbie Earle, sacked by ITV yesterday for unwittingly helping a Dutch beer company promote their products at the Denmark v Holland game the other day.
Here's the official BBC story: http://bit.ly/dwtozp
It seems someone within Robbie's inner circle has let him down by passing on (selling?) his allocation of World Cup tickets to a third party - in this case a bunch of 36 young ladies planted at the game to promote a rival beer to official World Cup beer sponsor Bud.

Some people, like Walter B. on this blog make the case that FIFA have acted like fascists over the matter. See http://bit.ly/aGkxf9
I loved Robbie when he played for Wimbledon and feel for him today. His children also went to the same local school as one of mine and I briefly met him a few times when he came to our house.
What a 100% stand up chap and a Wimbledon legend.
But for once in his life he took his eye off the ball and has paid the price.
