13 Young Enterprise companies from schools in Merton and Sutton set up stalls on Wimbledon Piazza last Saturday in a competition to showcase and sell their wares.
Organised by Merton Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Love Wimbledon, this was the second year of the fair.
Products included travel organizers, bird houses, cable tidies, drink holders and accessories, many customized to meet buyer's requests.
Some products had been made by the teams and others produced through bespoke manufacturing and branding. Diana Sterck, CEO of Merton Chamber of Commerce summed it up "The enthusiasm and talent of the young enterprise teams shone through. I hope this experience has given them a flavour of what it means to run your own business. Sales on the day were high because the products were good, the teams were excellent at selling and with the support of Love Wimbledon, each team had their own market stall."

Young Enterprise is a national initiative taken up by schools to encourage 14-19 year olds to learn enterprise skills in readiness for the world of work.

With much enthusiasm shown on the day from all teams participating it was an extremely inspiring day for all and a great way for the public to see first hand what Young Enterprise is doing for entrepreneurs of the future.
