Cancer Centre London in Wimbledon, South West London is one of the UK's premier cancer treatment facilities and offers dedicated, state-of-the-art outpatient cancer treatment including radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
The medical and radiotherapy staff were fantastic – very professional and always cheerful and relaxed - and they put my mind at rest straight away. Even the equipment – daunting at first - was quiet and unimposing. It was all to become so familiar to me over the coming weeks.
Following the assessment, my first treatments were then scheduled at times that were convenient for me. It doesn’t take long to get into the routine.
The actual treatment is painless and laying completely still for half an hour soon made me feel drowsy, so I occasionally dropped off to sleep, whilst the unit revolved around me doing its job! I was also able to listen to my audio books on my iPod during the treatment, which I found very relaxing and helped the time pass. The staff – as I found out – were keeping a watchful eye on me at all times. I am comforted by the fact that I have been in excellent hands throughout.

hmvcurzon is Wimbledon's newest cinema with three screens and a comfortable lounge bar. Situated above HMV on The Broadway, Wimbledon.
HMV Curzon is great! It's a cinema for grown ups... I've been there many times and the audience is always respectful of the other patrons. The cinemas are clean and comfortable and the films they screen are diverse. It's a real treat going to the cinema again.

STEM4 is a Wimbledon charity organisation, actively encouraging early identification and prevention of mental health illness in teenagers and young people. We provide this support and advice through our website and workshops and offer our services throughout Wimbledon, Merton and South West London.
They are a fantastic charity helping young people understand issues around mental health. The team work very hard, mostly as volunteers, and go into schools and provide workshops. I feel that they support issues that are sometimes swept under the carpet where actually they could do with recognition
