AN EASTER GETAWAY IN THE SUN
Easter is the time for us to be getting together, stuffing ourselves with chocolates, Easter eggs and enjoy a long weekend away. We all want to make the most of our Easter holiday and nothing says relax and enjoy more than a few days in the spring sun.
A few of our favourite getaways for Easter include;
Gualdo Marche is situated on Italy’s east coast and is one of its best kept secrets. With views across the valley to the mountains of the Sibillini National Park, this is an area of outstanding beauty.
The region is bursting with the most beautiful medieval towns and villages, such as Macerata. There you will find the amazing outdoor theatre, Arena Sferisterio.
There is also Perugia with its 13th century palace and fabulous architecture. You can explore the gastronomic triumphs of the local Italian cuisine such as Brodetta and Porchetta, peruse the markets and local shops or enjoy a hike or a cycle through the glorious countryside.
Just 50 minutes away you’ll find the Adriatic Coast with various sandy beaches.
Discover Marche and its abundance of fine food and wonderful gastronomic experiences, rolling hills, hilltop villages, vineyards and some of the best designer outlets for some amazing bargains.
By far and away our favourite place to stay is the gorgeous Cancello Est. The views are incredible with rolling landscape and mountains stretching for miles. Cancello Est has been lovingly restored, the food is rustic and amazing and the portions huge.
The perfect place for an amazing Easter Holiday break.
It’s hard to believe that in our modern world, relics of the past can still be discovered. But, at this beautiful friendly boutique establishment, rare ceiling frescos were discovered in bedrooms during renovation, each painstakingly restored to their former glory.
Boutique accommodation with spectacular panoramic views, an outdoor marble pool in undiscovered Italy, this is a genuine treasure.
Everything is included in this special package and is a real opportunity to satisfy the biggest appetite for glorious wine and unbelievable food.
Enjoy a magnificent Easter break with a dinner in the mountains including all wines and even a chauffeur driven Limousine to take you there and bring you home again.
Just when you think things can’t get any more romantic, wake up to full gourmet Champagne breakfasts.
This truly awesome place also offers wine tasting in local vineyards and a visit to a local cheese farm to watch pecorino cheese being made followed by a sumptuous cheese lunch.
What about visiting the basilica and a six course dinner at a local artisan restaurant enjoying local organic products or a morning at the Cancello Est cookery school with chef Valentina preparing six courses for your dinner? Or even pamper yourselves with a morning at the local thermal spa with treatments.
The perfect Easter getaway break for 2015.
Split is the jewel of the Dalmatian coast. Not only is it a warm 22 degrees in spring, but it has the most spectacular beaches, beautiful town and superb sea food.
It is the second largest city in Croatia and a great way to see Dalmatian life as it is really lived.
It is a typical Mediterranean town, vibrant, charming and fun. As the largest Dalmatian town, visitors have lots to do and see. With its seafront promenade, many museums and galleries or every relaxing at the beach, Split should be on everyone’s bucket list.
Whether exploring Split’s Old Town or wining and dining on the promenade, there is some for all in Split this Easter. Bargaining at Split’s green market, wandering amongst the stalls and enjoying the smells, colour and vibrancy of the market, is a must.
Split has dramatic coastal mountains and turquoise Adriatic waters, breath taking scenery and superb hotels.
