This year's rep season is produced by Paul Taylor Mills, the most exciting young producer in the country and he describes doing a rep season as 'bonkers'. The 2016 season is the most ambitious in terms of the selection of plays - will they pull it off?
Windsor's 2016 Rep Season consists of a variety of comedies and a murder mystery and runs for 6 weeks from 7 June to 16 July 2016 with a different show each week:
Ian Mckellan recently commented that the 'National should bring back rep' and Liverpool's Everyman Theatre has just announced a Rep season. Why? It's exciting for the theatre-goer and great for the actors who get to play a variety of characters across a number of genres providing valuable experience.
Only the best talent can cope with the speed of quickly learning a new part whilst performing another one every night on stage and many of our favourite actors and actresses learned their trade in Rep.
Theatre Royal Windsor has just 630 seats which provides an intimate experience for audience and actors alike.
The youngest cast member is 21 and the oldest? Well let's say they've been doing rep since 2004 and acting a lot longer than that!
Most nights the cast will meet the audience after the show either in the bar or in the foyer so you get the chance to talk to them about their character up close. What we like the best is trying to work out which actor is playing which character in the next play as often it is quite hard to work out with different accents, sets, costumes and personalities.
Prices are £10, £15 or £20 per ticket - call for multi-show discounts
