Pizza Express is a favourite venue of mine as I love pizza and in particular their Leggara range which is lower in calories. However, I have a wheat intolerance so I suffer a little the next day and have to choose between the dough balls and a salad or a pizza so I don't eat TOO much wheat.
Pizza Express now offer gluten-free versions of their classic and Romana dishes PLUS they do gluten-free dough-balls.
I can't tell you how happy I was when I saw the menu. But I really wanted a gluten-free Leggara which they don't do.
Despite this they offered to give me a small side salad alongside my Padana gluten-free pizza so it was similar to the Leggara = one very happy customer.
Situated right opposite the castle, this time we had seats by the window which was great for people watching, but previously I've been near the kitchen which is fun as you can see the chefs cooking.
They have a sizeable upstairs room too where I've had family celebrations - my father-in-law is now gluten-free so we've had to go elsewhere for our family gatherings but now we can come back...
For those of us watching our weight (or for those who have filled themselves up with pizza), the mini puddings served with a coffee are a favourite part of the meal for me.
However, they had a new dessert on the menu - a Passionate Fruit Cheesecake which I just had to try. This was supposed to be split with my husband but he was too slow.
The new mural in Pizza Express Windsor celebrates the Queen's 90th birthday - very fitting for the town - pop down and see it!
