The Queen honours some of the recipients of awards from the New Year Honours List, today at Windsor Castle.
These include:
She will be made a dame. The actress, who is 88 and has been previously awarded a CBE, is best known as her character Jessica Fletcher in Murder, She Wrote although I remember her best in Bedknobs And Broomsticks which I saw countless times when I was a child.
She has had many film and TV roles and has played alongside many famous faces including Elvis Presley in Blue Hawaii.
Being honoured with a Knighthood for services to the arts is the sculptor Antony Gormley, who is best known for his Angel of the North sculpture in Gateshead.
And receiving a CBE for charitable services (particularly to children's charities) is Nicholas Parsons, that very familiar and well-loved face and voice on TV and radio. He has been presenting 'Just a Minute' for over 40 years (without deviation or pausing!)
Michelle is the owner & MD of The Best of Windsor and she also runs a business and marketing consultancy called Quivr. She's passionate about Windsor and loves being able to connect people to each other...
