My Lonely Ride: In aid of Clatterbridge Cancer Hospital
13th July 2012

My story begins in March 2010, when my wife Jackie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her treatment at Clatterbridge Hospital was to span 2 years, including major surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I am pleased to say her treatment was successful, thanks to her fighting spirit and the dedicated staff of Clatterbridge Hospital.

My way of saying "thank you" was to try to raise funds for the breast cancer clinic and the oncology department. So, the idea was born to ride my motorcycle to the most northerly point in Europe, Nordkapp.
It took 18 months of research and training into winter camping together with physical training to prepare myself, I was now ready to depart.

On May 8th at 10.04am I left Clatterbridge Hospital with a warm and cheery send off from friends, family and staff: and so my journey begins!
