Rafal Wisniewski Complementary Therapy
  • Mobile service across the Woking area
A Therapist with over 15 years experience, Rafal Wisniewski has worked in a variety of medical and complementary therapy settings in Poland and the UK, including a private therapy college and a military specialist medical centre.

He has also trained extensively in a variety of complementary and relaxation therapies, which he now offers as a mobile service across the Woking area. These therapies work on the basis that the most effective way to promote health and prevent illness is to strengthen the body’s own defence system. They have been shown to support the well-being of the whole person, as well as helping to alleviate a range of ailments and conditions.

You don’t need to know which complementary therapy will be best for you; this is where Rafal’s experience comes in. He will advise you on a course of treatment that can be as simple as a massage, or could involve a number of treatments to help resolve deeper, chronic issues.

Rafal is fully insured for all the complementary therapy treatments he performs.

Massage

Massage can range from the simply indulgent and relaxing to the more ‘medical’ massages that target particular aches and pains. If you’re in the Woking area you can have any of these treatments delivered by Rafal at your own home:

  • Aromatherapy Massage - a relaxing and refreshing massage using fragrant oils
  • Deep Tissue Massage – used to release deep-seated tension and relieve postural imbalance
  • Indulgence Massage – full-body massage focussing on the back for total relaxation
  • Remedial Massage – a deeper massage that helps to promote the healing of damaged soft tissues
  • Slimming Massage – a special treatment using herbs and massage to correct hormone imbalances and improve the metabolism
  • Swedish Massage – designed to relax muscles, release tension and improve blood flow

Sports Massage

Regardless of whether you exercise or play sport for fun, to keep fit or to compete at an elite level, sports massage has something to offer you.

Sports massage therapy is recognised as helping to restore mobility to injured muscle tissue, boost performance and extend the overall life of your sporting career - all of which are huge positives if you're into your sport.

If you struggle with injuries, are restricted by aches and pains, or just want to take your sport to the next level, contact Rafal today to arrange a sports massage at your own home.

Complementary Therapies

Modern (Western) medicine assumes that the mind and body are separate, and that disease and illness are bodily “breakdowns”. Instead of focusing on these breakdowns and the symptoms they cause, complementary therapies aim to treat the entire person, which, many would argue, makes a lot more sense.

Rafal is skilled in all of the following therapies and treatments:

  • Osteopathy – the use of massage, manipulation and stretching to make small but important adjustments to the body’s structure. A gentle and effective method of pain relief and is suitable for people of all ages, including children.
  • Acupressure – often called “acupuncture without needles” - an ancient Chinese healing method that involves applying pressure to certain meridian points on the body to relieve pain.
  • Shockwave Therapy (SWT) - a non-invasive treatment that uses painless, high-energy acoustic waves to treat various musculoskeletal conditions such as muscle or joint pain - more details
  • Electric Muscle Stimulation (EMS) – a proven and effective form of pain management and to aid muscle recovery
  • Cupping Therapy - known to help activate the lymphatic system and promote blood circulation, and is good for deep tissue repair.
  • Laser Therapy – a similar procedure to acupuncture, but using a laser to increase circulation to problem muscles and joints. It offers pain relief plus a reduced treatment time.
  • Ultrasound Therapy – a painless method of treating soft tissues, ultrasound has been used in the treatment of sports injuries since the 1950s
  • Infrared Lamp – used for local treatment of pain; may help to relieve symptoms of conditions like myalgia, neuralgia and lumbago

Complementary therapies can help with:

Complementary therapies tend to have a cumulative effect - one treatment may result in a short term benefit, whilst correcting long-term problems will more than likely require multiple treatments.
