Mizens Railway is a passenger-carrying miniature railway situated in a delightful 10-acre site near Woking in Surrey. Operating on a track gauge of 7¼ inches, the railway provides a choice of runs, the longer one being nearly 1 mile in length. A variety of locomotives are in use, including several steam engines.
Mizens Railway is now open every Sunday from 2-5pm. We will normally be operating two alternative rides - the shorter "Suburban" and a longer "Miler" or "Highlander" route.
We will also be open on Thursdays in August, again from 2-5pm.
There is always lots to do on the site on both running days and during the week.
The 40s Day will be on Sunday 8th September (not the 15th)
WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS IN OUR TICKET OFFICE AND TEA ROOM - CASH ONLY PLEASE
On running days public access to the site from the car park may be barred until 15 Minutes before we open while we prepare for running and while there may be vehicles moving in the public areas.
We are unable to carry children under the age of 12 months on the trains, or young children without an accompanying adult.
We reserve the right to cease operations early if the weather is really bad, but in any case we will usually try to run trains until about 4pm on regular running days.
The railway is generally open to the public on Sunday afternoons from the beginning of May until the end of September, plus Thursday afternoons in August. We also run on Easter Sunday and New Year's Day. In addition, several Special Events are held including the very popular Santa Specials in December (for which advance booking is required).
