Newhampton Arts Centre will be welcoming Wolverhampton children again for their up-coming February half-term activities. Families should get ready for a brand new programme of exciting workshops with a special focus on toys -  and a one-of-a-kind children’s theatre show where their own toys are the stars of the story!

 

The exceptional Slot Machine Theatre bring their puppetry skills to a show like no other – one that features your very own toys! A heart-warming story about friends pulling together, Your Toys is funny, full of music and surprises, and will send you home with a huge smile on your face. It’s an anthem to creative play and silliness and will be loved by children and adults alike. (Suitable for ages 5-9 yrs) Wednesday 19th of February at 11am & 2pm. Tickets: Adult £6 child £4 Family £18.

 

The half-term fun continues with the art centre’s much-loved artist workshops through out the week. Story Box Toys by Sculpture Place invites childrens to bring their own toys or work from imagination in a brand new colourful modelling clay workshop. Monday 17th of February at 10-11.30am (4-7yrs) & 1-3pm (7-11yrs), priced at £3 per child.

 

Funky Foam Mono Printing by Jacky Fellows is an exciting activity where children can have a go at print making. Have fun in this workshop by making toy car inspired colourful prints using easy cut Funky Foam. (Suitable for ages 4-11 yrs) Tuesday 18th of February at 10-11.30am & 1-3pm. Admission: £3 per child.

 

How about becoming a sculptor in a Build Your Own Bear Workshop by Alex Fawson?  Build a traditional 3D teddy bear sculpture using mod-rock plaster and bandages. Thursday 20th of February at 10-11.30am (4-7yrs) & 1-3pm (7-11yrs), priced at £3 per child.

 

Or come and get messy with our NAC-tivists at their FREE or Pay What You Can workshop and create a wacky race track using a variety of toy vehicles to experiment with print, patterns, textures and colour mixing. These workshops run on Friday 21st of February at 10am until 11.30am (recommended for ages 4-7 years) with an afternoon workshop at 1pm until 3pm (recommended for ages 7-11 years).
