Newhampton Arts Centre in Wolverhampton are planning their first ever virtual 3D exhibition to celebrate the work of their residents artists during lockdown. The exhibition, called Art Unlocked will take place on Thursday 4th - 30th June and will be accessible to the public through the NAC website.

Staff and residents at Newhampton Arts Centre have been busy behind the scenes adjusting to the lockdown and working from home. Many Wolverhampton Artists have used this time to continue their practice, creating exciting new works in lockdown or self-isolation, inspiring each other and the public. NAC now wants to celebrate this artistic response and sprit of creation through difficult times by displaying these works in a new 3D collaborative exhibition.

The online gallery will include the opportunity to purchase work, supporting local Wolverhampton artists and giving the public a chance to own a unique souvenir from this strange moment in history. Featured artists include, Loz Taylor, Chris Manley, Hannah Boyd, Kom Achall, Clare Wasserman, Lindsay Pritchard, Jackie Fellows, Eleanor Gray, Ed Isaacs. The works on display will range from fine art painting and drawings, photography, digital art and more.

‘Our resident artists play a huge role in making NAC such a vibrant cultural community. As well as making work in their studios, they offer classes and courses to the public, stage solo and group exhibitions in the Gallery Hall and open their studios regularly to the public. We thought that they might have been as busy at home as they were onsite, and we weren’t wrong. We are delighted to share Art Unlocked: an online exhibition showing a hugely varied creative response to lockdown. Many of the pieces are also for sale, so if you think a piece would look as good on your wall as it does on our online walls, we can put you in touch with the artist to purchase.’ – CEO - Trevelyan Wright.

NAC and residents have chosen kunstmatrix.com, known for its high-quality 3D technology  to host their new online exhibition. You are invited to view this works from the Thursday 4th of June at www.newhamptonarts.co.uk/art_unlocked/
