Arts Council England have just released news of emergency response funding for National Portfolio and Creative People & Places Organisations across the country. This fund provides financial assistance to NPOs and CPPs who are most in need by making emergency grants available to help them survive. The total amount of funding to be awarded across the entire nation is up to £90 million.
24 organisations in the Midlands will receive an 17.1% of the total UK funding, Newhampton Arts Centre received the news of their £40,850 reward by Arts Council England on Tuesday 7th July and this is what NAC - CEO Trevelyan Wright had to say about the much welcomed news:
‘We are very grateful to Arts Council England for this additional support at this very difficult time for the arts. The funding will help NAC stabilise its position over the next few months while we develop our plans for re-opening to the public. We look forward to welcoming them back for live music, theatre, courses and classes when it is safe to do so.’
