City of Wolverhampton Council’s Anchor Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) will open over the Bank Holiday weekend to help residents dispose of items that cannot be safely stored at home.
The site will be open on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 6pm.
A spokesperson for City of Wolverhampton Council, said: “Traditionally, Bank Holidays are a busy time at tips, which is why we’re expecting lots of people to visit the HWRC in the coming days.
“We saw almost 1000 vehicles pass through the gate of Anchor Lane during the weekend it re-opened. The site has been busy, as expected, but carefully planned traffic management and marshalling of vehicles has meant it’s worked well. We’d like to thank residents for their co-operation, patience and for keeping to the strict social distancing arrangements.
“Unfortunately, we had to turn away a small number of residents from the site for reasons including:
“Before making the journey to the HWRC over the bank holiday, ask yourself if it’s an essential trip. Can your items be safely stored at home? But if not, please check our website before making the journey. It includes lots of helpful information, videos, maps and FAQs about what to expect when visiting Anchor Lane HWRC. “Our staff will guide residents through the site as safely and as quickly as possible, please follow the guidance given, and keep to social distancing guidelines.”
Residents have been told not to visit the site if they, or members of their household, are showing any symptoms.
