The BPLC or 'The Bilash Professional Lunch Club' held today at the Bilash Indian restaurant was a great event for all who attended.

Great food is almost 'a given' these days at the Bilash and we weren't disappointed. I had chosen the special dish,  Murgi Diya Doniya, which The Bilash submitted for the 'Curry Capital' of the year awards a couple of months ago. It was absolutely delicious.

The guest speaker was a guy called Sam Ermolenko.

Now I know that this name might not mean a great deal to many of you but as a Speedway fan in the late 70's and early 80's I remember this guy competing at Perry Barr speedway when he rode for Cradeley Heath. His talent shone above most of the other riders and when he was crowned world champion it was just recognition for his brilliant talent.

What I didn't know then was the story behind the man and his dedication and will to overcome very difficult circumstances to live his dream.

Most guys would never have got on a bike after shattering a leg in a bike accident. Most guys certainly  wouldn't have got back on a bike after shatttering the same leg in 10 places for a second time. And only someone very special would then go on to be crowned World Champion.

Listening to Sam and seeing his obvious dedication, will power and ambition is a reminder to all just what goes into making a great champion in any discipline.

So thanks to Sam for a great talk and thanks to  Mr. Mohammed Khan from The Bilash in Wolverhampton for another great lunch club and amazing food.
