Wolverhampton residents are once again being asked to make a positive change in their street, community and city.
Make:Shift, Wolverhampton’s annual ideas festival, is back for its seventh year on Saturday, November 16, between 10am and 1pm, at The Workspace, All Saints Road, All Saints, Wolverhampton.
It aims to empower the people of the city to ‘Change Wolverhampton with an idea’ and no idea is too big or too small to bring to Make:Shift, provided you have the commitment to drive your idea forward and make it a reality.
This year the focus is on ‘Small Change. Big Difference’ – looking at the small things we can all do that do not require a huge time commitment or a massive effort yet can make a major difference to our communities.
Make:Shift will also be exploring some of the common barriers that people experience in delivering their ideas and how these can be overcome.
The event will also revisit successes from previous years.
There will be sessions on Push Through Play and Inspiration Station, and there is an opportunity to see some of the talks from TEDxWolverhampton earlier this year.
Tickets are free but people are urged to book in advance at https://tinyurl.com/yyqpg674.
City of Wolverhampton Council Director for Strategy, Charlotte Johns, said: “The people of Wolverhampton always deliver when it comes to creativity – and we are delighted we can help foster the wealth of ideas put forward.
“At Make:Shift people are genuinely interested in hearing about and getting behind any idea, big or small, that will make the City of Wolverhampton a better place to live.
“If you have an idea, I’d urge you to get involved and join a network of friendly and like-minded people who can help you to turn your vision into a reality.”
This year’s Make:Shift is being led by Wolverhampton for Everyone (WE), a social movement that is dedicated to creating a people powered city.
