On Saturday 14th December Buddha Bros. helped Wolverhampton get into the mood for a very vegan Christmas at the Light House with a Christmas event for everyone with live music, carol singers, hot food, cakes, art exhibits, mulled wine, cosmetics, gifts and more. There was free entry for those under 11 years of age.
The Buddha Bros. are a Wolverhampton-based vegan events organisation with the mission statement "spreading good vibes, love and the vegan message to as many people as possible". The live music set list kicked off with the Wulfrun Warblers (carol singers) followed by Cassie Aurora and Danny Wilson, the Wulfrun Warblers, Stephen Williams, Kyle Parsons, Stephen William and Cariss Auburn to finish. It`s not Christmas without a few carols and the Wulfrun Warblers did not disappoint with traditional favourites as well as classics from the likes of Slade and The Pogues. People were encouraged to get into the spirit and dress for the occasion to make this a day to remember with a prize for the best dressed!
There was also a Christmas hamper to raise money for The Garden Sanctuary. It was a great opportunity for people to give back to amazing causes through raffle tickets this Christmas. The Garden Sanctuary is a safe haven for liberated, unwanted and neglected animals in Wolverhampton. They have taken in over 250 unwanted animals. This selfless and inspirational sanctuary were at the Light House selling key rings, hand made products and candles to raise funds for the sanctuary so they can continue their great work.
There was also an after-show party at the Prince Albert round the corner until 1am. Soul n Funk DJ Ian Davies was playing. It was a non-profit event with tickets just £3 to cover the venue and DJ.
Everybody who attended the festival had fun. There was a very special atmosphere at The Light House with good vibes this Christmas. For more information: Buddha Bros. is on Facebook.
"The vegan movement is growing rapidly with people educating themselves on the incredible health benefits, reducing their carbon footprint through diet and of course saving lot's of unnecessary suffering to animals. Our events are an opportunity for people to try incredible vegan food whilst enjoying live music and other entertainment in a friendly atmosphere where people can ask questions without judgement. Thank you to all who attended and watch out for our next event at Himley Hall in spring 2020!"
