Christmas lights switch-on events for all the family will light up City of Wolverhampton for the countdown to Christmas.

The city centre switch-on will take place in Queen Square on Saturday, November 23, from 2pm until 8pm. Get set for a host of entertainment that you will not want to miss.

The fun starts with a free screening of family favourite film ‘The Polar Express’ on the Signal 107 stage from 2.15pm, Harry Jones’ Funfair, a festive market on Dudley Street and much more.

Father Christmas will be in his Mander Centre Grotto for a special Christmas lights switch-on appearance, between 2pm and 6pm.

Why not also visit the real reindeer in Dudley Street, near Greggs, between 2pm until 6pm?

Star of the Grand Theatre pantomime Dick Whittington, Su Pollard, who plays the evil Queen Rat, and Signal 107’s Dicky Dodd will join the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Claire Darke, and Father Christmas to switch on the lights at 5pm.

The city centre fun is not the only festive Christmas lights celebration in Wolverhampton, as lights will also be switched on at Bantock House, Wednesfield, Bilston and Tettenhall, with Father Christmas and the Mayor of Wolverhampton doing the honours, plus entertainment from Signal 107.
