Councillor Ian Brookfield, said: “We gave a commitment to provide seven day opening of our tips when we began our waste transformation journey in 2018.

Tips are well used in the city, and residents have told us for some time that they want them to be open on more days. Today we’re able to deliver exactly what people want as part of a trial to help boost the city’s recycling and re-use rates.

“We must keep encouraging people to dispose of items responsibly and continue to recycle.

“Our tips will be open seven days a week, giving convenience and ease for thousands of people across Wolverhampton. All of which feeds into our dedicated work around climate change and the council’s commitment to tackle this important global issue.”
