The popular fair is returning to the City Archives’ Molineux Hotel Building, Whitmore Hill, WV1 1SF, on Saturday 23 November from 10am to 4pm.
A variety of local organisations and societies will be hosting stalls, including the Wolves Museum, Moseley Old Hall, the Wolverhampton Hospitals Heritage Collection and Wednesfield History Society.
Also attending will be the Wolverhampton branch of the Western Front Association, Albrighton & District Historical Society, Wolverhampton City Fair Trade Partnership and Wolverhampton Archaeology.
As part of the day, Dr Michael Hardacre, former Mayor of Wolverhampton, will present the Archives with his collection of papers and speeches from his Mayoral year, to be preserved for posterity.
Dr Hardacre, who also served as a councillor up until the local elections last May, was Mayor of the City of Wolverhampton during 2023-2024.
Councillor Obaida Ahmed, City of Wolverhampton Council’s cabinet member for digital and community, said: “Our city has a fascinating story and I’m really pleased that it will be celebrated during the Wolverhampton Local History Fair.
“The event is a wonderful opportunity to peek into the past and find out more about the life and work of generations who came before us and how they helped shape the city we live in today.
"Visitors will also be able to speak to experts from a number of local organisations as well as finding out more about the service that the city archives offer.”
The Friends of Wolverhampton Archives will be providing tea, coffee, cakes and other refreshments for a small contribution.
There will also be a series of activities for families and children throughout the day, including colouring and a quiz/trail around the building.
Entry to the Wolverhampton Local History Fair is £2 for adults and £1 for children. No booking is required.
