Diwali, the festival of lights, will be celebrated at Phoenix Park in Wolverhampton this weekend.
Wolverhampton City Council's Outdoor Events team is organising an afternoon of activities at the popular Blakenhall park on Saturday (26 October, 2013) from 2pm to 7pm.
It will feature music from the internationally-renowned band Apna Sangeet as well as Manny Khaira and the Azaad Dhol Group, while there will also be performances from local dance groups.
Following the turning on of the lights at 6.30pm there will be a spectacular firework display. Councillor Elias Mattu, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said: "This promises to be a great event for all the family, featuring top quality entertainment and a fantastic fireworks display."
