Birmingham-based Spectra kick off the West Midlands tour of their brand new multi-sensory immersive show Eat The Stars at Newhampton Arts Centre, on 16-17 November 2019. The show goes on to tour to Sense Touchbase Pears, Birmingham(29-30 November) and Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, Coventry (14-15 December).

Taking place along an accessible guided trail, Eat the Stars invites audiences on a fun and whimsical adventure, using all their senses to triumph in a game of extraordinary imagination and… stardust!  Spectra skillfully create an immersive world of captivating sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. Eat the Stars is a show for all ages that is accessible to everyone.

A collaboration between neurodiverse and neurotypical artists, Spectra has been devising work since 2013.  Their first show to tour, Eat the Stars is Spectra’s eighth show and marks a turning point for the company.  Constantly pushing the boundaries of inclusive arts practice, last year the company hosted FORGE, a two day action event at MAC Birmingham investigating the opportunities and challenges around inclusive programming.

Eat the Stars is funded by Arts Council England and supported in partnership by Newhampton Arts Centre, Black Country Touring, Sense TouchBase Pears, The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, and MAC Birmingham.
