A Wolverhampton Folk Club are planning an special outdoor music festival this summer named Folk at New Horizons, this will be Folk at the NAC’s and Newhampton Arts Centre’s first ever folk festival.
The festival is due to take place on Saturday 3rd July 2021, originally a theatre date for welsh folk super group Calan. The Folk at the NAC team have been working hard over the past months - adding to line up and creating a whole day filled of live music in NAC's brand new outdoor performance area.
The New Horizons Stage is the arts centre's response to COVID, allowing live music to resume once again in the city. The big-top style tent stage will be situated in NAC's central courtyard which during COVID restrictions will be operated without side walls – allowing for 100% external ventilation and events to be presented ‘as outside’ but under canvas.
A Folk at the NAC favourite and lively five piece Calan will be headlining the festival with their trademark brand of high-energy routines, verve and raw excitement. We will also see additional acts throughout the day including One of England’s finest singer-songwriters Pete Morton, The Vera Van Heeringen Trio with their own special brand of Folk/Americana and Matt Sayers the lyrically driven Indie-Folk musician originally from Wolverhampton.
Excited attendees should expect a party atmosphere, real ale and hot food to accompany some of the UK’s finest folk musicians of today, all in Wolverhampton’s new outdoor performance area.
Please note that due to social distancing rules that are currently in place, Newhampton Arts Centre have a very strict number of festival tickets available and these will be sold on a first come first served basis. So booking your tickets early is highly recommended, where you can also take advantage of NAC’s early bird ticketing offer.
