Covent Garden on Tour – an exciting street theatre festival filled with roaming street performers – returns to Wolverhampton next weekend.
This FREE, family-friendly event takes place on Saturday 20 July from 11am to 4pm along Victoria Street and Bell Square. Acts on the day will feature stilt-walkers, a professional juggler, and an entertaining circus clown on hand throughout the day to keep everyone entertained.
The second event will take place on Saturday 10 August from 11am to 4pm along Victoria Street and Bell Square. Acts on the day will feature a hula hoop performer, a speed painter street show, stilt-walkers and a pirate themed walkabout act.
There will also be free face painting, an ice cream van as well as local businesses open in the area on both days. Admission is free and no tickets are necessary.
Councillor Chris Burden, Cabinet Member for City Development, Jobs, and Skills said: “I’m excited that Covent Garden on Tour is returning to Wolverhampton for two dates this summer.
“With the summer holidays on the horizon, I know parents will be planning ways to keep the kids entertained and what better event to attend than a free family-friendly street theatre performance.
“I’d encourage everyone to pop along during the day for this completely free event, watch the acts, get involved and support local businesses along the street.”
Covent Garden Entertainment, working in partnership with City of Wolverhampton Council on the event, have 10 years’ experience in the entertainment industry, representing some of the world’s best corporate entertainment, street performers, circus artists and variety acts.
