During October half-term Wolverhampton Arts and Culture have worked with a team of freelancers to create some online resources for a ‘spooktacular’ break.
The family friendly activities are free to download and are suitable for a range of age groups.
Visit the website where you will find downloadable links to make Pumpkin Decorations, Tissue Monsters, Sugar Skulls and a Halloween Cat out of those odd socks lying around the house.
City of Wolverhampton Council Cabinet Member for City Economy, Councillor Stephen Simkins, said: “During this holiday and for those who are self-isolating, finding something to entertain the children can be difficult. But the council’s Wolverhampton Arts and Culture team have made available a range of ideas for creative activities and ways to stay connected with arts and culture.
“And not just for Halloween. There are a host of other free activities available for all ages.”
For older audiences, curators have compiled a list of informative books available on Issuu, which relate to artists and artworks in the city’s collections, and to exhibitions.
There is a carefully selected list of podcasts which document what is currently going on in the arts and discuss recently opened exhibitions and burning topics in the art world.
Beyond viral videos, tutorials and music, YouTube has many great channels where you can learn about art. The arts and culture team has selected five YouTube channels covering latest exhibitions and art events, as well as those that explore art and art history through the lens of things happening today.
