Residents who would like help and support on a range of money, health and safety matters can attend an open day in Low Hill next week.
Help at the Hub will see a wide variety of city organisations offer free advice and information. The event will take place at Low Hill Community Centre, Kempthorne Avenue, Low Hill on Thursday 6 April between 10am and 2pm.
The event has been organised by the council’s Public Protection Scams Team who will be handing out free scams awareness and prevention packs.
Residents with concerns about finances and the cost-of-living crisis, can speak with advisors from CAB Money Advice Service, the Council Tax team and Wolverhampton Homes Money Smart Team.
Other representatives from Access to Business, Admiral Nurses specialising in dementia care, Black Country Alzheimer’s Society, Black Country Impact, Public Protection Scams team, STARFISH Wolverhampton Social Hub, SUIT offering support for anyone affected by substance misuse, Wolves at Work and Wolverhampton Memory Assessment Service (part of Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust) will also be available on the day.
Residents are welcome to drop in and speak to any number of the organisations for free help and assistance.
Becky Wilkinson, director of adult services at City of Wolverhampton Council, said: “This will be the sixth in our series of Help at the Hub days which take support and advice into local communities.
“People can pop in and find help with concerns they may have about health, advice on security or discover more about how to develop skills and find opportunities for learning.”
Residents do not have to book an appointment but are asked to please be prepared to wait if the event is busy.
