Bespoke support and advice for black businesses in Wolverhampton as they deal with the impact of coronavirus (Covid-19) is being offered

as part of this year’s Business Week.

A free webinar will take place on Wednesday, September 23 and is being offered by Wolverhampton

Black Business Network (WBBN) in partnership with City of Wolverhampton Council.

Coping with Covid-19 - Challenges for Black Businesses, will look at the health and well-being

challenges for small businesses over the past six months, remote working and IT skills and the priorities for WBBN to support business growth post Covid-19.

Other areas covered will be effective business support engagement in the city and future

trade with Commonwealth nations following the UK’s departure from the EU.

Panellists will be made up of members of the WBBN as well as a number of black business

owners and experts from across the city.

Executive Director of Wolverhampton’s Black Business Network, said the session would offer discussion, support and information for the city’s

black businesses and employers.

“Coronavirus has been a real challenge for a lot of businesses and this webinar will look

at the particular ways it has impacted the black business community and what that means for companies going forward,” he said.

“We hope that as many black businesses and employers as possible will join us to discover

how members of the panel have been affected during this period and ask them how they have dealt with the challenges faced.

“We’ll also look at how we can move forward under WBBN’s vision to create an environment

in which black businesses in the city can contribute to the economic activities of the region as well as addressing the underrepresentation of BME businesses in the city.”

“As a city we are keen to encourage members of all business communities to share their knowledge and expertise as well as highlight the challenges

which may be specific to them and the ways they have dealt with them.
