Newhampton Arts Centre are delighted to launch their new outdoor creative space,
The New Horizons Stage - with two fun-filled days of FREE COVID-safe kids arts and
craft activities.
These creative workshops will take place this half-term on Thursday 3 rd and Friday 4 th
of June. All activities are best suited to children of 5-11 years but families are more
than welcome to join in the fun. All sessions are completely FREE and COVID-safe
(with art materials supplied).
The art centre’s fun-filled programme of children’s activities will feature NAC
residents and artists sharing their unique talents including, Graffoflarge who will be
offering a graffiti workshop and artist Lindsay Pritchard who will be offering two
crafts with her plasticine and bookmaking workshops. Other unmissable activities
include a paper dolls making workshop by AF artworks.
Street artist Graffoflarge will be working with children of all ages to create stencilling
wall art on site at NAC. During the drop in session Graffoflarge will showcase their
street art, explain the benefits of positive graffiti within the community and provide
themed drawing resources.
Explore fashion and design ideas making clothes and costumes for a paper doll, using
individual styles in a paper doll making workshop by AF Artworks. All the resources
are included to bring your paper doll to life with templates and ideas provided for
younger children.
Go wild with shape, colour and texture to create 3D pictures using plasticine on
recycled cardboard in Plasticine World with Lindsay Pritchard. This is a very popular
hands-on workshop, enabling children to create textured pictures using everyday
objects. Or try something different and make a home-made concertina story book
with Lindsay, using recycled materials, collage, bold shapes and colours to ignite and
explore children's story telling imagination.
Don't forget all workshops are FREE at NAC, DUNKLEY STREET, WOLVERHAMPTON,
WV1 4AN BETWEEN 11AM & 3PM on both days. Please note there will be robust
