Yumintum Sweets
What started out as a romantic gesture, has just celebrated a successful first year of business. Yumintum Sweets is celebrating its 1st Birthday in October 2019.
Yumintum Sweets was created by founder Jaz, to offer an alternative sweet treat to her partner who is vegan. Upon realising that there was a gap in the market, Jaz left her full-time employment as a solicitor to spend focusing on the business.
The core values of Yumintum Sweets are to offer a sweet treat that does not require any animal based products in it, and instead contain ‘plant based magic’. Jaz realised there are many establishments that do not cater for vegans or vegetarians, and made it her mission to ensure people of all dietary requirements were able to find a sweet solution in their nearest health stores, cinemas and theatres. Yumintum was created to provide not only vegans, or vegetarians a sweet solution, but for everyone to enjoy.
Yumintum focuses on three key principles.
1) Making tasty treats for everyone to enjoy: Yumintum was not made solely for any dietary group. It has worked very hard to be seen as inclusive brand for all sweet lovers. A key mission of Yumintum is to help people realise that products that can be made without any cruelty should be enjoyed by everyone. If sweets can be enjoyed without such ingredients, and instead using healthier plant-based alternatives, this should be promoted.
2) Staying cruelty free: Yumintum takes pride in being a cruelty free brand. No products contain animal products or by products. Yumintum believes in working towards a kinder planet, which involves respecting all life forms.
3) Sustainability: A key part of focusing on a healthier planet is recognising the deep lasting negative impact plastic is having on the environment. As a result, Yumintum prides itself of only using recyclable and biodegradable packaging that can be reused.
Throughout the past year, Yumintum has grown to supply over 20 Zero waste shops across England, Scotland and Wales. Yumintum is stocked in theatres, pubs, café’s universities (including the University of Sheffield, and the University of Manchester), and health stores.
Further, with the recent launch of its Natural Range, which does not contain any artificial colours, or flavours, is GMO and fat free, it is continuing to focus on creating healthier sweet snacks.
Yumintum’s mission is to combine the three key concepts to produce a healthier, more sustainable and tasty treat for all consumers.
