The awards recognise outstanding achievement by UK businesses in the
categories of innovation, international trade, sustainable development and
promoting opportunity through social mobility.
They are valid for five years and previous winners have reported benefiting
from worldwide recognition, increased commercial value, greater press
coverage and a boost to staff morale.
The Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Dr Michael Hardacre, will open the
event and businesses will also be able to hear from a previous winner, and
Wolverhampton Deputy Lieutenant Professor Martin Levermore MBE, who will
outline the process involved and answer any questions.
City of Wolverhampton Council Leader, Councillor Stephen Simkins, said: “We
have many outstanding businesses – big and small – in our city and these
awards are an ideal way for them to gain the recognition they deserve.
“An honour like this not only gives businesses the opportunity to thrive and
grow further it also boosts investment, jobs and skills in Wolverhampton.
“I would encourage businesses to get along to this event and find out more.”
