Live Folk Music Returns to Wolverhampton

Folk fans from all over the Midlands will be thrilled to discover that Folk at the NAC are safely bringing a brand new season of acts to Wolverhampton. Earlier this summer NAC marked the return of live Folk music with the club’s first ever Folk festival. Now get ready for their Autumn Folk at the NAC season, with an impressive line-up to end 2021 on a high.

Featuring some of the world’s prestigious acts from today’s folk music scene, kicking things off is the much anticipated rescheduled Steve Tilston and Jez Lowe. Don’t miss two of the UK Acoustic/Folk scene’s finest songwriters join forces for a series of concerts filled with songs and music, chat and banter and intimate insights into their approach to their craft for a very special evening of music. Sat 18 Sep- NAC - 7:30pm - £12.50.

 

Next up is Sherburn Bartley Sanders, Chris Sherburn (concertina), Denny Bartley (vocals and guitar) and Emily Sanders (fiddle/viola and vocals) combine together to produce soul-stirring songs, exhilarating tunes and quick-witted banter ensures that no two concerts are ever the same. Sat 9 Oct - NAC - 8pm  - £12.50.

Jim Moray will return to the Wolverhampton arts centre, named amongst England’s finest interpreters of traditional song. His music has attracted critical acclaim including being a five-time BBC Folk Award winner. Sat 6 Nov – NAC –  8pm - £14.


And finally an unmissable collaboration to get audiences in the festive spirit, five of the English folk scene’s most inventive artists bring you Awake Arise – A Christmas Show For Our Times; celebrating the riches of our varied winter traditions. Hannah James, Rowan Rheingans and Hazel Askew (Lady Maisery) combine with Jimmy Aldridge and Sid Goldsmith to complete this powerful line-up. Fri 17th Dec - NAC - 8pm - £12.50.
