The Covid-19 mobile testing unit will be moving to Bantock Park this week.
Wolverhampton’s mobile Covid-19 testing unit will be based in Bantock Park from Thursday 6 August, where it will be open daily between 9am and 7pm.
The unit offers rapid LFT coronavirus testing, without needing to book an appointment, for anyone who does not have symptoms of the virus. Anyone over the age of 2 can get tested, but under 18s should be accompanied by an adult. Tests are free and provide results in around an hour.
Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: “It’s important that we continue taking regular rapid coronavirus tests, because although social restrictions have eased, the transmission of the virus has not.
“These tests are quick and easy to do. They give results in around an hour and help to identify positive cases, a third of whom may not know they have it but could still be passing the virus on.”
As well as at the mobile LFT testing unit in Bantock Park, rapid testing is also available at The Civic Centre from Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm, at the Jamia Masjid Bilal Mosque 10am until 7pm daily and at Ashmore Park Hub between 9am and 6pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Rapid LFT testing kits can also be collected from locations around the city or ordered online for home delivery. For more information about rapid testing and how to get testing kits, please visit www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/get-tested
Covid-19 tests for people with symptoms of the virus, such as a fever, a new and continuous cough or a change to your sense of taste or smell, are bookable online at www.nhs.uk/get-coronavirus-test or by calling NHS 119.
