A long awaited art exhibition comes to Wolverhampton this October as NAC will be hosting their Paint the Day 2020 gallery. The event follows Paint the Day Online which took place early this summer. The physical exhibition will feature all finished artworks together in the one place for the first time since they were created in lockdown.

Nearly 90 artists completed works during this year’s online 8 hour visual arts challenge on June 20th. Participants were asked to paint the day within a mile radius of their own homes this year due to current COVID emergency, which resulted in wide range of subjects and mediums. All constestants work will be on public display in the art centres’ Muni gallery space from 10th October. The collaborative show celebrates the community spirit, creative nature, raw talent and spectacular beauty of our surroundings.

Specially selected judges will decide on prize winners from each Paint the Day category before  the exhibition starts. But you can still watch the action online, via Facebook live which will be used to broadcast and announce this year’s winners on Friday October 16th at 6pm.

The public vote is still of course up to the public. Exhibition Visitors from the 10th will be handed a voting slip on arrival to the exhibition to vote for their favourite artworks. As always the public prize winners will announced when the exhibition ends and notified how to collect their prize. This year’s exhibition also offers the chance for people to bid on artworks giving the public anopportunity to own a one-of-a-kind artwork to hang on their walls.

There will be extra measures in place at NAC to ensure your safety at the exhibition including a one way system and capped visitor numbers at any one time. The exhibition is FREE and runs from Saturday 10th until the Sunday 18th October, 11am – 4pm each day (3pm on Sundays).
