Wolverhampton’s new-look Investment Prospectus is set for approval by City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet tomorrow (Wednesday).

It follows hot on the heels of Wolverhampton being ranked as the joint number one European city for its inward investment strategy in fDi Intelligence's ‘Small European Cities of the Future’ category.

The prospectus will be a live digital document which can be regularly updated in response to changes in economic conditions and reflects the city’s ambitions for growth. Future opportunities identified through the Wolverhampton Local Plan will also be considered as the prospectus evolves.

It presents an ambitious vision of how the city can grow through investment, development and regeneration - and highlights opportunities to build on the billions of pounds of public and private sector investment already on site or in the pipeline in Wolverhampton.

The prospectus has also received endorsements from influential city partners, including Jo Nugent MRTPI, Head of West Midlands - Markets, Partners and Places at Homes England, who said: “We’ve worked closely with Wolverhampton Council in recent months, developing a shared vision and objectives for the transformation of the city centre.

“As part of this, we've supported the Council with our skills, capacity and expertise to help identify priority sites for intervention from the public and private sector, which are reflected in the opportunities outlined in this prospectus.”

City of Wolverhampton Council Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for City Economy, Councillor Stephen Simkins, said: “The previous Wolverhampton investment prospectus was launched in 2019 and much has changed in the last four years.

“Despite the pandemic, we have continued to see significant investment making a difference in Wolverhampton and the prospectus will underpin the city’s Levelling Up ambitions and Our City: Our Plan principles - providing inspiration and improving the quality of life for residents.

“We now have an incredible opportunity to secure even more investment and to do this we need to prioritise, package and promote more of our ambitious and exciting pipeline projects.

“Unlike previous prospectuses, this one will be a live digital resource that will continue to evolve to reflect the changes in project development and delivery - and the changing needs of our city, of our businesses and our residents.”

The Wolverhampton Investment Prospectus will be available to view at www.investwolverhampton.com subject to Cabinet approval.
