Live Music Returns to Wolverhampton.

Newhampton Arts Centre will soon be opening its doors to welcome gig goers back into their venue this October.  An intimate and physically-distanced show by I am Kloot’s John Bramwell with begin the Autumn programme. These all-acoustic performances will be on Saturday 17th October with an evening show at 7pm (now SOLD OUT) and a newly added matinée so as not to disappoint fans at 3pm.

Jezebel Music Presents are extremely proud to present John Bramwell solo as part of a short tour of venues, which have been able to safely reopen, after months of inactivity, and follows a mini-tour of outdoor venues in August and September.

John Bramwell is perhaps best-known for his time as the songwriter and frontman of Manchester three-piece, I Am Kloot. However, he also possesses an enviable back catalogue as a solo artist and continues to work on new material under the guise of his latest band, John Bramwell & The Full Harmonic Convergence. The Wolverhampton shows will be entirely acoustic, which most people agree is the best way of enjoying his back catalogue.

NAC has been closed as a music venue since early April due to the COVID pandemic. However the staff team at the centre have been working behind the scenes, making sure live music will  continue in their city.  A number of COVID 19 safety measures have been put in place at the centre to ensure  Wolverhampton audiences can enjoy their live experience whilst staying safe. These new procedures including reduced theatre numbers, socially distanced seating, bar table service, a one way system across the site, track and trace, and  comprehensive hygiene and cleaning.

John Bramwell  will be playing his intimate, physically-distanced Wolverhampton shows on Saturday 17th October at 7pm (sold out) and 3pm ( added due to popular demand). Tickets the newly added matinée cost £20 and can be obtained through the Newhampton Arts Centre website. www.ticketsource.co.uk/newhamptonartscentre or by phone on 01902 572090.  Due to reduced audience numbers we recommended booking early to avoid disappointment. John Bramwell

John Harold Arnold Bramwell, to give him his full name, is perhaps best-known for his time as the songwriter and frontman of Manchester three-piece, I Am Kloot. However, he also possesses an enviable back catalogue as a solo artist and continues to work on new material under the guise of his latest band, John Bramwell & The Full Harmonic Convergence.

Bramwell’s first studio output appeared in 1989, when he was performing and recording as Johnny Dangerously and entitled You Me & The Alarm Clock, an album The Guardian referred to as one of the ‘greatest albums you’ve never heard.’  Following a stint as a television presenter and as a member of the band, The Mouth, Bramwell formed I Am Kloot, with two members of The Mouth. They went on to record six studio albums, including the Mercury-Prize nominated album, Sky At Night.

Since 2016, Bramwell has reverted to being a solo artist and tours continuously, around the UK and Europe. A home-recorded solo album, Leave Alone the Empty Spaces appeared in 2018 and the follow-up, a more expansive affair, with a working title of The Light Fantastic, is now scheduled for release in early 2021.
