The event featured top stand-up comedians Josh Pugh, Lindsey Santoro and Jack Kirwan and raised an incredible £5000, which will go directly towards supporting the Good Shepherd’s vital work helping people across the city.
The evening was a celebration of community spirit, hosted in partnership with University of Wolverhampton at The Halls, the event saw venue staff volunteering their time to keep costs down to ensure as much money as possible was raised for charity.

Crissie Rushton, General Manager at the University of Wolverhampton at The Halls said:
“We’re really pleased that we were able to support Good Shepherd and the vital work they do by offering our venue for the Stand Up for Change event.
“I’m glad the night was able to raise so much money for a well-deserved charity. A big thank you goes to all our staff who kindly volunteered to work the event, to help make the night such a success.”
The funds raised will support the Good Shepherd’s ongoing work, which aims to end homelessness, support recovery and create pathways out of poverty. The success of ‘Stand Up For Change’ highlights the power of community action and shows the impact that just one single fundraising event can have.

Tom Hayden, CEO of the Good Shepherd, expressed his gratitude:
“This event was a brilliant example of Wolverhampton at its best – people coming together, having a great time and making a real difference.
“We are incredibly grateful to the comedians who gave up their time, to The Halls for their generosity and to everyone who attended and donated. A special thank you to our ambassador Jack Kirwan, who without him this event wouldn’t have been possible.
“The funds raised will help us continue providing essential services including crisis support; homelessness outreach, food services, activity groups and 1-1 support.”
Ambassador for Good Shepherd and comedian who performed at the event, Jack Kirwan said:
“I am so pleased the night was a success, we had a lot of laughs and everyone had a brilliant time. A big thank you to Lindsey and Josh for putting on such a fantastic show and for giving up their time.
“I am really proud to be an ambassador for the Good Shepherd and I am really pleased were able to raise important funds for such a well-deserved charity.”
