Prehistoric Fun Heads To Wolverhampton!

This Easter, Newhampton Arts Centre will be hosting a range of Dino-themed
arts and craft activities, designed especially for children from ages three to thirteen.

Dinosaur crafting workshops will be delivered by local artists, giving
your child the chance to let their imaginations run wild, explore exciting new worlds and pick up new skills along the way. Best of all they can bring their pre-historical masterpieces home.

On Tuesday the 16th April from 10am-12pm, artist Kanjana Nicholas will be teaching 7-13 year olds how to felt Dinosaur Eggs. This creative and fun workshop explores the wet felting method, with white and coloured merino wool.

In the afternoon from 1-3pm join artist Lindsay Pritchard for Prehistoric
Plasticine, amied at 4-8 years. Little ones can create an imaginary 3D dinosaur world in a box complete with textured models and colourful scenery. Wednesday 17th April at 10-12pm 7-13 yrs can join local artists Kom Achall for her Night-time Dino Egg Hunt!

Children will be getting crafty creating a night-time prehistoric scene using plants & trees, where giant Easter eggs may be discovered! Those taking part will also get their imaginations working to create a story to share with the group at the end of the session.

On Wednesday the 17th chidlren are also invited to The Sculpture Place for our Dino World Sculpture Day. Making a mini world that a dinosaur could call home, then creating their very own 3D dinosaur out of air-dry clay to live there. 10am -12pm is for the order children (7-13 years) and the afternoon 1-3pm is for the younger ones (4-8 years) Our much-loved Pay What You Feel NACtivists workshop ‘Daring Dinosaurs’ is back on Thursday 18th.

This time there are no tickets needed: just drop in on the day from 10am till 12pm or 1pm till 3pm to explore what would happen if the dinosaurs came back. There will be story-telling, dino crafts and a NAC spin on traditional Easter bonnet making for ages 3+ and their families.


All workshops are amazing value at just £3 per child, except for ‘Daring Dinosaurs’ which is FREE or Pay What you feel.

(parents/carers are advised to stay for the 4 – 8yrs sessions but are welcome to stay and join the fun throughout the week).

Please note workshops have very limited spaces so booking up is essential. Hot and cold Meals can be purchased from Jester’s (NAC’S onsite Café) on the day for just £2.50 or can be pre-ordered all week for just £10!
