Help at the Hub will see a wide variety of city organisations offer free advice
and information to residents. The event will take place on Thursday, 15
February in the red room at Penn Bowling & Social Club, Manor Road, WV4
5PY, between 10am and 2pm.
The event has been organised by officers at City of Wolverhampton Council’s
Public Protection Scams Team who will be handing out free scams
awareness and prevention packs.
Representatives from Admiral Nurses, Aquarius, Citizens Advice Bureau,
Compton Care, the council’s Cost of Living Advisors, Neighbourhood Safety
Co-ordinator, Pohwer, Public Protection, SUIT, Waste Services,
Wolverhampton College, Wolves Foundation and Wolves at Work will be
available on the day.
Leader of the council, Councillor Stephen Simkins, said: “Helping our citizens
through the cost of living crisis remains a top priority and we’re doing
everything we can to help from food and energy to everyday household
essentials.
“Many people have already benefitted from dropping into the Help at the Hub
events and I’d encourage others to take advantage of the huge range of
expert advice on offer all in one place. This is just another level of protection
and support we’re offering for those who need it.”
Councillor Craig Collingswood, cabinet member for environment and climate
change at City of Wolverhampton Council, said: “Our Help at the Hub days
are proving extremely useful to residents and I am pleased to see that they
have become a regular fixture in the calendar.
“Penn will be our eleventh Help at the Hub event and we have a wide range of
organisations and experts on hand to help as many people as we can in a
local community venue.
“Residents may have concerns about a number of issues and there will be
people on hand who can help out. Please join us on February 15 for a chat
about your worries and to find support.”
People do not have to book an appointment but are asked to please be
prepared to wait if the event is busy.
