Healthwatch Wolverhampton, the Independent Champion for people who use health and care services, will be holding a “Spotlight on Prescriptions”; following a number of people sharing their experiences and concerns about their prescriptions.

A “Spotlight on” is a public meeting allowing members of the public to find out more about a specific topic such as prescriptions, share experiences and ask questions to the people who make decisions and how these decisions are made.

Healthwatch Wolverhampton has received a number of patient experiences and concerns recently about prescriptions, including medication being changed or removed without patient’s knowledge as well as concerns about how Brexit may impact the availability of certain medications.

Tracy Cresswell, Healthwatch Wolverhampton Manager, said: “We know that some patients are experiencing changes to their prescriptions without their knowledge or involvement in these decisions. We also know that the Brexit debate has caused concerns for some people about the future availability to access certain medications.

We urge patients who have experienced changes in their prescriptions to contact us on 0800 470 1944 or attend the “Spotlight on” on the 5 February.

At our Spotlight on event, we will be joined by guest speaker(s) from the Clinical Commissioning Group who will be able to explain the changes and answer patient’s questions.”

We encourage anyone who has had an experiences of these changes, or has any interest in attending to visit our website www.healthwatchwolverhampton.co.uk or call our number 0800 470 1944 to book their place.

If you are unable to attend but would still like to share your experiences, please contact the team.
