2025 is shaping up to be an auspicious year for Bilston-based publishers, Tenebrous Texts. In 2024 they published books from Laura Liptrot, Richard Bruce Clay, Steven C. Davis and Brendan Hawthorne and held book launches in Saturday Books in Dudley, Dudley Library and at Katie Fitzgeralds in Stourbridge.

This year they will be publishing more books from Laura Liptrot’s ‘The Garden of Time’ series; the third in Steven C. Davis’ ‘Hurnungaz’ trilogy, two books from Nimue Brown, a book from Jon Hartless, their anthologies, ‘Here There Be Monsters’ and ‘Tenebrosian Ekphrasticity’, as well as Steven C. Davis’ debut poetry collection, ‘Freshly dipped and bleeding love’ and Lorna Rose’s ‘All the colours of the night’ collection, as well as putting on a performance of Lorna’s ‘Crown Her with Ivy’ at Caldmore Gardens later in the year; ‘Crown Her with Ivy’ debuted successfully at last year’s ‘Raising Steam’ festival.

With a focus upon fiction and poetry which is ‘speculative, alternative or dark .. sci-fi in old parlance, but with a broad remit to include alternate reality, folk horror, noir, space-fantasy romance and more ...’ Tenebrous Texts has a roster of manuscripts planned for publication throughout the year which puts big-name publishers to shame.

Founded in 2010, Tenebrous Texts is a small-press publisher supporting a global range of authors, playwrights, poets and writers. They do not accept submissions but actively seek out people they can work with at open mic events, book launches and the like.
