A range of events hosted by City of Wolverhampton Council and city partners will be taking place during Wolverhampton Business Week (September 26-30) to provide support to city businesses.
One of the key themes of the week is sustainable economy and on Wednesday, September 28, between 8am and 10am, a ‘Let’s Talk Low Carbon’ event will be running at IGNITE, i10, Railway Drive, WV1 1LH.
Businesses will be able to hear about the council’s commitment to low carbon and what it is doing to make a difference, what local companies Wintech and Fablink have to say on the subject and what role City of Wolverhampton College and the University of Wolverhampton are playing in reducing carbon emissions and the assets and resources available to businesses.
‘Free advice for Business Start-ups’ will take place at IGNITE on Monday, September 26 (1pm-5pm). Businesses can drop in to gain expert support from Black Country Chamber of Commerce, the region’s leading support organisation, Azets, will offer specialised accountancy support services, and Wolverhampton charity, Access to Business, will be providing general advice and direction on how to set up a business, legal responsibilities and marketing options.
Wolverhampton Economic Growth Board and Wolverhampton Business Champions are inviting businesses to ‘Making Levelling Up Real for Wolverhampton’, at Grand Station, Grand Hall, Sun Street, WV1 1AA, on Thursday, September 29 (10.45am-11.15am). It is an informal event to provide the opportunity to share ideas and proposals on how businesses can be part of the development of the city's delivery strategy.
On Friday, September 30 (10am-11.30am) The Creative Chain is holding a ‘Digital Marketing – online selling, video and branding’ event at IGNITE. It offers small businesses the opportunity to learn from Stone’s Throw Media how to create video content for your business; explore SEO, Google ads and website best practices from Digital D; and hear about the importance of branding, with tips and handy checklists from TP Squared.
Other business support events on offer throughout Wolverhampton Business Week relate to business growth, finance and digital technologies, with most in person and others online.

“Wolverhampton Business Week provides the platform for the council and our many city partners to showcase the invaluable support, advice and training on offer all year round in the city.
“I would urge all businesses in our city – small and big – to take a look at what events, workshops and webinars are available during Wolverhampton Business Week and get involved to find out how they can benefit.”
