The Recovery College for the Black Country is excited to announce new open days to welcome prospective students to their life-changing courses.

Following the Recovery College’s expansion from Quayside House in Oldbury into new physical bases in Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton in September 2023, these events provide an opportunity for the community to learn more about programs at the Recovery College and how the college supports mental health through education and collaborative learning.

The Recovery College provides an educational learning environment for people who have an interest in, or personal difficulties with, mental health. Courses at the college celebrate people’s successes and build on existing skills and strategies rather than highlighting problems or failures. The Recovery College works on the belief that learning together makes students stronger and supports their recovery.

During the open days, attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Attend a short information session about the Recovery College and its offerings.
  • Participate in a Q&A session to address any questions or concerns.
  • Join a taster session led by members of the college’s facilitator team.
  • Enjoy provided refreshments and network with other attendees.

Kerry Wilkes, Principal of the Recovery College in the Black Country, said: "We look forward to welcoming everyone and showcasing how our educational approach can make a positive impact on mental health and well-being.

“Our goal is to highlight the strengths and capabilities of each individual and foster a supportive community of learners."
