Theatre to return at Bantock House Museum and Park

Open air theatre returns to Wolverhampton in late summer with a thrilling and powerful production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth at Bantock House Museum and Park.

 The Lord Chamberlain’s Men are the modern incarnation of Shakespeare’s original company of the same name. Performing with an all-male cast, they present authentic, excellent and magical productions of Shakespeare’s finest plays bringing to vivid and accessible life the greatest works of drama, as they would first have been performed.

 Macbeth will take place on Friday, August 27. Gates open at 6pm, at the Finchfield Road venue (WV3 9LQ), with the performance beginning at 7pm.Tickets start from £10 (plus booking fee) and are now available at https://bhmmacbeth.eventbrite.co.uk. Tickets can also be purchased at The Courtyard Café any day between 2pm and 4pm. 

 For this unique theatrical experience, audiences are encouraged to bring a chair, a sun hat and a glass of something chilled as the show promises to be another authentic, excellent and magical treat from the company that brought you 2019’s sell-out smash production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

 City of Wolverhampton Council Director of Regeneration, Richard Lawrence, said: “It is fantastic to see that theatre is returning, in a safe way, to such an incredible venue.

 “The event hosted in 2019 was a spectacular event and enjoyed by a sell-out crowd. I do hope that as many people as possible will get behind this event and support the arts after the difficult time the industry has had.”

 This open air production is supported by Arts Council England’s Culture Recovery Fund and is ‘See it Safely’ compliant.
