The latest figures show that over 307,500 doses of the life-saving Covid-19 vaccine have been administered so far across Wolverhampton.
To date 166,194 people over the age of 18 in the city have had their first doses, and 141,376 people have the best protection against the virus after having both doses.
Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: “More than 141,000 residents now have the best protection from Covid-19 after having both doses, and many more are on the way to having their second doses too.
“The Covid-19 vaccines are safe and give protection from serious illness caused by coronavirus, so it is important that everyone who can get vaccinated does so and has their second dose as soon as they can.
“There are vaccines available for anyone in the city over the age of eighteen, so if you have not had yours, or are now due your second dose, it easy to get. Just pop along to your nearest walk-in clinic, or to the vaccine bus in West Park this weekend between 11am and 6pm.”
Walk-in vaccination clinics are open seven days a week across the city. Booked appointments are now available to anyone who turns 18 within the next three months.
The latest figures show there were 315.5 new cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 people in Wolverhampton over the last seven days. That means 830 people in the city tested positive for the virus in that same period – though the true number of new cases will likely be higher.
