#LoveTheReans Festival takes place in three community venues across the first weekend in September featuring music, poetry, workshops, food and lots more. The programme has been put together to put the talent in Whitmore Reans centre stage: all the talent appearing is from Whitmore Reans.

On Friday September 6th NAC plays host to a night of music from the Reans: Live @ The Marquee. Kerry Worton from Wolves Music United kick starts the #LoveTheReans festival. A professional musician and local to the area, she has organised a fantastic line-up of musicians for the live music event, in the New Horizons marquee at Newhampton Arts Centre. The lineup includes: Bansal Electrics, Daran Crook, Deeproot Juice, No Business, Notion of Fortune, Si Riley, Timothy Parkes and The Kerry Worton Trio

On Saturday September 7th at Wildside Activity Centre there’s an afternoon of workshops and talks between 1-5pm including candle making, natural ink making and a talk from local ‘cake maker to the stars’.

Saturday night sees music return to NAC alongside poetry with an evening of wonderful words and scintillating sounds at the #LoveTheReans Festival Poetry and Music Jam hosted by Arun Kapur. Arun is a Wolverhampton born and bred multidisciplinary artist and no stranger to festivals with previous accolades including performing at Nottingham Poetry Festival, Birmingham 2022 as well as co-running his own Film Festival alongside poetry themed productions.

Sunday sees the Festival conclude at Gatis Street Centre with afternoon activities featuring the Man About Mondays poetry showcase and a Reans Got Talent event, alongside a BBQ and creative activities in the Gatis garden, all taking place from 12-4pm.

All events are free but booking is advised for most events as space is limited. More information and links to book here:

The #LoveTheReans Festival has been made possible through a grant from the HM Government’s and West Midlands Combined Authority’s Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund. This support helps all the organisations involved create a brighter future and make a positive impact across Whitmore Reans and beyond.

Trevelyan Wright, Chief Executive of NAC, said:

‘We’re delighted to receive Games Legacy Funding and to be able to put on a fabulous weekend of free events and shows for Whitmore Reans showcasing the talent and community spirit we have in this great part of Wolverhampton. Now fingers crossed it’s sunny weather – though all our events are under cover.’

The #LoveTheReans Festival invites the community to join in a celebration of local talent and unity from September 6th to 8th. This free event promises a packed weekend filled with music, poetry, and interactive workshops, spotlighting the exceptional creativity rooted in Whitmore Reans.

Attendees are encouraged to secure their tickets in advance for most events, ensuring an opportunity to partake in all the festivities. The #LoveTheReans Festival is set to be a cornerstone event that celebrates the spirit and talent of Whitmore Reans, making it an essential date for the community calendar.
